When attempting to connect a recent model Canon EOS camera to the Canon EOS Utility app the following rather unhelpful message pops up:

Error AlertTitle FireWallAlertMsg - what a helpful message!

The problem is with the Apple's firewall, not the router, and as always, once you work it out it's easy!

System Preferences / Security and Privacy / Firewall / Firewall Options / UNTICK Stealth Mode

A simple solution once you know how!

You may have to enter your system password to do this.
