Google Chrome - resolving host message with huge page load delays

If you experience a problem with Resolving host displayed in the bottom of the Chrome browser and massive delays in loading the requested web-page, try either of the following:

  • Ensure you have a good DNS provider - Google are worth trying:

  • In the address bar of chrome, type chrome://net-internals/#dns
    • then click the Clear host cache button to clear the DNS cache
  • If this fails you will probably need to re-boot your router. On most routers, simply powering off the router and waiting 5 secconds, then switching it back on will achived this.
